Once again, Dobbs, nicely done! I feel the plan is something of an "overreach", but you have set the record straight. I hope many will see the irresponsibility of glib attatchments of labels that stoke the fires of divisiveness.
I get real tired of hearing from Republicans that Government is the enemy. Almost every government regulation which affects change to our lives is the result of real people being harmed. Whether it is the installation of a new traffic light, speed sign, or the banning of additives to the food we consume, these regulations were put in place because ordinary Americans petitioned their local, state, or federal government to make changes because people were being harmed or killed. Government does not sit around and think how can we make ordinary citizen's lives more difficult. In stead they are pushed by the people to enact regulations to protect everyone. It is also interesting to note that there are many examples where corporations make financially based decisions to deal with individual law suits rather than invest the money upfront to correct a defect in a product ( case in point GMC's exploding gas tanks on pick up trucks). From my perspective, one of the main duties of good government is to protect us from ourselves.

Right On!
